A simple explanation for the loud talk shows on TV and radio
And the explanation comes from centuries before modern communication technologies were even invented!

Philosophy talk on radio
One of the many wonderful things about living in Oregon i
s the wonderful set of choices on radio. One of them is "Philosophy Talk", which I accidentally dialled into about two years ago, I think. Last week, when we were driving back from Portland, a caller--a student from the Carolinas--raised a question on people smoking in his campus, and what might be his philosophical basis to end that practice. Pretty neat, eh.
So, am delighted that the LA Times has done a story on the show and the two faculty behind it. Cool.
