Burn, burn, burn. Bill O'Reilly's book, that is :)

Photo 1: A box of falafel Bill's book sent to troops in Afghanistan

Photo 2: those books being burnt by the soldiers

Why?

Some jerk sent us two boxes of this awful book (SPOILER ALERT: George Washington - Patriot; George Soros - Pinhead) instead of anything soldiers at a remote outpost in Afghanistan might need, like, say, food or soap. Just burned the whole lot of them on my Commander’s orders.

Muahahaha!

O'reilly, Obama, Beck, and SNL. Ah, what a laugh-off!

At least O'Reilly didn't say "tide goes in, tide goes out" :)

But, seriously, there are people who watch O'Reilly's show for information and not for entertainment? How do they avoid puking?

And, how did the world not stop "spinning" when O'Reilly chatted with Beck, and even ol' Bill finds that Glenn is nuts :)

Oh well ... that is capitalism for you!

Bill O'Reilly explains religion and the tides :)

Try reading this (ht) without even cracking a smile :)
Bill O'Reilly waxes theological:
O'REILLY: I'll tell you why [religion's] not a scam, in my opinion: tide goes in, tide goes out. Never a miscommunication. You can't explain that.

SILVERMAN: Tide goes in, tide goes out?

O'REILLY: See, the water, the tide comes in and it goes out, Mr. Silverman. It always comes in, and always goes out. You can't explain that.
Glad we've settled that!

Would somebody email Mr. O'Reilly this link that explains the tides? :)

An OMG edition: Sarah Palin

TPM via Slate:
"Well, then what the federal government should have done was accept the assistance of foreign countries, of entrepreneurial Americans who have had solutions that they wanted presented. They can't even get a phone call returned, Bill. The Dutch—they are known, and the Norwegians—they are known for dikes and for cleaning up water and for dealing with spills. They offered to help and yet, no, they too, with the proverbial, can't even get a phone call back."
—To Bill O'Reilly, Fox News, June 15, 2010.

You know, maybe it is time for that Stephen Sondheim classic:

Tiger Woods, Brit Hume, and Bill O'Reilly: Heights of WTF!

I hope Christopher Hitchens will write something about this; I can't think of anybody more qualified and talented than him ....

More on Team Obama v. Faux News

John Batchelor has these wonderful words to say, even while chiding the Obama people for going after Faux News:
The decision by the golden-hearted crank Bill O’Reilly to attack the warm-hearted crank Glenn Beck over the latter’s swine flu denial spiel is at once first-rate showbiz and slapstick teamwork. Not since Abbott and Costello have two guys in suits, one tall and impatient, the other chubby-cheeked and childlike, had more fun debating “I Don’t Know’s on Third.”
None of what goes on in the evening has anything to do with government. The president and the Congress are discussed as omnipresent villains in a fairytale that begins with a happy kingdom of worthies, introduces an ogre, a witch, and a curse, and then interviews champions to come forward to rescue the frightened children and save the USA. All the while, Ming the Merciless, aka Rupert Murdoch, rakes up the ratings and the bucks.
