Orange swirling flame of days

When you read "orange swirling flame," perhaps you thought this would be a post about trump.

It might as well be; that line is from a poem that is titled, "Burning the old year," which might as well refer to trump's full year in the White House!

The poem was published in 1952.  Well before anybody could have ever imagined a nightmare scenario of a trump ruining America.

But, it comes in handy now, to burn the old year, and to look forward to a better year.

Going off on a tangent, it presumably is set in the days where you simply burnt papers that you don't need. Today such a "disposal" would be unthinkable.

BTW, do you recall how we ever disposed off the trash back when we lived in Neyveli? There was no garbage collection service of any sort. So, what did we all do with our trash? I recall well that paper, plastics, bottles, etc. were always sold--people came door to door to buy those. But, what did we do with the trash? I can't figure this out ... my memory is a blank on this
